In our breeding program, we strive to stay true to the Havanese breed and characteristics that have brought them so much admiration and adoration.
We breed our Havanese puppies to be medium to small in size. AKC standard requires 8-12 pounds as adults, we keep our Havanese at about 9 pounds. They are up to 10 inches tall at the withers, also in accordance to AKC standard. Our breeding program holds true to the original Havanese by keeping their babydoll faces!
For those who are unfamiliar with the Havanese breed, we like to compare their temperaments to a lab. They are happy, calm, and not yappy like some toy breeds tend to be. They conform to your mood instantaneously, whether you want to play or cuddle. Havanese are also easy to train because they are eager to please. We breed for exactly these qualities.
You might find that Havanese hair comes in two ways: straight or curly. A straight-haired Havanese is comparable to a woman with long, straight hair with no body. A curly-haired Havanese is like poodle hair and mats very quickly and easily. We keep a happy medium. We have wavy-haired Havanese puppies, like the woman with long straight hair getting a body wave! That hair doesn't mat easily and makes for a cute and fluffy puppy, without all that maintenance!
